Error: "You do not have permission to send to this recipient" on new mailbox database
We have an Exchange 2007 (Enterprise) environment with 2 existing mailbox databases. Recently we mounted some additional storage to the box so that would could migrate some additional users from another environment. We created a new storage group on the new drives and created a new mailbox database in the new group. We created a test account and found that the test account can receive email internally but cant receive anything from any external email. Checked accounts and on the other databases to make sure and they can all receive fine. We know we must be missing something but we arent sure what it could be, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

There should be nothing that you need to do to the database to allow it to receive email. Have you tried moving an existing account across? It could be something about it being a new account, not that it is a new database. Simon.Simon Butler, Exchange MVP Blog | Exchange Resources | In the UK? Hire Me.

Agreed with Andy and Dhruv, Some organization use spam solution (like postini) where they need to add SMTP address of newly created mailbox to receive emails. What about if you move mailbox into any old databse. Did you wait for some time once create mailbox ? Anil
